The Reason

An exploration of embedded racism, stereotypes and violence through the lens of an interracial mother and father looking for their teenage son, we believe “American Son” will add necessary empathy and understanding to these important and timely issues.

The production partnered with The Opportunity Agenda to create a thoughtful audience engagement tool Raising American Son: A Discussion Guide.

Following the November 27th, 2018 and January 10th, 2019 shows, audience members were treated with an incredible opportunity to connect live with the cast, show creators as well as leaders in the activist community via a moderated interactive discussion on the issues.
